Google Ads

Paid campaigns, budgets, and performance.

Google Ads is where you track your paid campaigns across the Google ecosystem — Search, Display, YouTube, Shopping, Performance Max. The integration brings the reading of how that spend is performing.

What it covers

Performance and efficiency of your paid campaigns on Google: reach, clicks, conversions, costs, and return.

Feeds the Paid group of Pulse, alongside Facebook Ads.

The connection is read-only — we never change campaigns, budgets, or creatives.

Prerequisites

  1. An active Google Ads account — doesn’t need running campaigns, but must exist.
  2. At least “Read-only” access to the account.
  3. Conversion tracking configured if you want to read conversions and ROAS.

If your account sits under a Manager Account (common in agencies), log in with the admin account and pick the client account.

How to connect

  1. In Integrations, click Google Ads.
  2. Log in with the Google account that has access.
  3. Authorise read-only access.
  4. Choose the account you want to connect.
  5. Done. Syncing begins.

The first sync pulls up to 13 months of history, depending on what Google Ads provides.

Common issues

  • “The account doesn’t appear”: check you’re logged in with the right Google account. If it’s a Manager Account, make sure you have access to the client account.
  • “The ID has a strange format (123-456-7890)”: that’s normal. Google Ads uses that format — pick it as it appears.
  • “Conversions at zero”: conversion tracking must be configured inside Google Ads. Check Tools → Conversions.
  • “ROAS shows as 0”: ROAS needs a conversion value configured. Without an associated value, there’s no return to compute.
  • “Sync is slow”: large accounts (many campaigns) take longer on the first sync. Subsequent ones are faster.
